The long wait to see a doctor.

I mentioned the other day that while stuck in the exam room at the kids doctors office for 2 hours waiting for the doctor to come in that the boys and I started to take goofy pictures.
here are some of Pictures from that LONG wait..

Here is Mr Man waiting on the exam table. It was his appointment.

After a long while he laid down on the table board out of his mind. Here is a close up of Mr Man while laying on the table.
Little Man was with me, seeing how DH had just had surgery 4 days before this and couldn't really care for Little Man if he needed picked up or anything, so I had the boys and DH had the girls.. Here is a close up of Little Mans tongue LOLAnd here is one of his eye. LOL.. See I told ya we took goofy pictures to keep us entertained during this painfully long wait.
After the picture of the insides of our throats and close up of ears and noses got old, the boys started playing around on the floor. Normally this would make me a bit crazy, getting dirty before seeing the doctor and all that stuff. But at this point anything that kept Little Man from screaming and crying and Mr Man from asking how much longer was a good thing not a bad. Then the boys wanted to take more goofy pictures.

At one point my friend who works at the office (In the front of the office we were in the back,) got tired of hearing Little Man screaming(because he wanted out of that little room) she came back and tried to take him with her but he wouldn't leave mom, so instead she went back up front and got him a few suckers to keep him happy for awhile.. Nothing like letting him eat suckers before dinner LOL.
We all lived I guess and I ended up with some funny pictures of my boys

Injury Reports and Who's Who

I have been a mom for 11 years 8 months now, and a mom to a school age child for the last 7 years. ONLY today was a first for me in two sort of school related things, both dealing with my girls.

The first, first was I had an Injury Report sent home for me to sign and return to school tomorrow. Thankfully it wasn't a major injury but come morning Sweet Pea is going to have on big shiner. The paper read

Injury Report:
Dear Parent,
This is to report that Sweet Pea was injured at school.
Injury: Another child came down the slide and their foot ran into Sweet Pea's cheek at recess.
Treatment: Ice
Treated by: Office
Please sing and return this notice. Thank you Miss O.
Pretty dontcha think??

The second, first sort of school related thing, came in the mail today to the Parents of Princess.

Dear Princess and Parents,
Congratulations! Princess has been nominated for recognition in the 2007-2008 Who's who Registry of Academic Excellence(Middle School Edition). This esteemed publication features only the most elite students in the nation based on exceptional academic success and overall achievements for their age group.......

The letter went on and on.. so I won't type it all out.. but this was a 1st for us also.

So before Princess went to bed tonight she and I filled out her online application and we should know in 2 to 3 weeks if she will be accepted into the Who's Who Registry of Academic Excellence.

Wordless Wednesday(Mr Man and his fish)

Not so wordless again today. Mr Man and my dad has been fishing A LOT. They started this summer and They haven't stopped.. Mr Man is becoming a really good fisherman. The above picture was a fish he caught while at my sisters house in TX middle of August.

The next two pictures are some fish he caught in a town about an hour south of where we live Early part of September

Then on September 8, 2007 Mr Man and Grandpa(my dad) thought they would try fishing here in our town.
Here is what Mr Man caught that day.. He was very proud of himself

We didn't know they made them this big in our resevior

both fish were this size and about 3 pounds each.

A few random things from today.

Little Man had a doctors appointment this morning. It was a recheck on his speech. I don't remember if back in May I wrote that He just didn't talk at all, he would toss out a mama or a dada here and there and maybe a NO once in a while.. but he really wasn't talking. The doctor wanted to give it a few months and see how he would come along with it..
Here we are in Sept. and I'm happy to say he is talking.. Not where I think a kid his age should be but he is talking 100% more then he was back in May. The doctor still think it would do him good to have some evaluations done to make sure there is no problem and maybe see if we can bring him further faster. So on this coming Monday Little Man will be having a hearing evaluation. I'm 99% sure his hearing is fine, because he can follow directions really well(when he wants too) but they still want to check him for some hearing lose. Then they want to evaluate his speech, but there is a small waiting list for that so I'm not sure when they will do that.

I don't know what is up with the kids doctors office lately. Friday Mr Man had an appointment and it took about 2 hours to see the doctors.. that is a whole different story in and of it's sell which I do have pictures off because I had both boys with me stuck in a little exam room and they were board so we started taking goofy pictures with my cell phone. Maybe I'll post some of them later this week. Then today my appointment was at 11:20am. I got back into the exam room really quickly.. ONLY to sit back there till 12:30pm before the doctor came in.. I mean how do you keep a 2 year old happy in a tiny little room like that for that long.. UGH UGH UGH.
By the time the doctor got to us Little Man was a bear I even had to sort of raise my voice at him and tell him to STOP. which I don't think my doctor has ever heard me to to any of my kids in the last almost 12 years that he has been my kids doctor. Think I put him into shock LOL.
I sort of wonder if the doctor would have showed up when my appointment time was if Little Man would have to see the speech people because when we 1st got there he was the sweetest little thing ever, talking up a storm, telling everyone hi and bye and pointing at things in the book we were reading and repeating the names of things. OH well guess having things checked out won't hurt anything.
Also while we were in the doctors office Little Man asked to go potty 3 different times.. and he went on the toilet all 3 times.

Onto Sweet Pea. Those of you who know her knows she still sort of have a baby-ish(for lack of a better term) talk sort of tone in her voice and there are about 3 or 4 letters that she still messes up when she talks.. like her C's sound like T's sounds.. like she will say WWW dot tom instead of com. When I try to correct her just by a friendly reminder of me repeating the word correctly she gets all shy and will stop talking for hours at sometimes.
Today when I picked her up from school her teacher told me she wants to refer her to the school speech therapist. I think this is a good thing because maybe they can help her with the letters she is having trouble with.. but at the same time.. I hate for her to be pulled out of classes to have this done. Both DH and I had to do this when we were Sweet Peas age also. Though I remember my speech teacher as being mean and nasty and always hurting my feelings and I felt awful every time she had to keep correcting me. I really don't know if my teacher was mean and nasty maybe she was just trying to help me say things correctly.. but that was the impression I got and I remember feeling embarrasses 1st that I had to be pulled out of class for this and then like I said felt awful when she told me I was doing it wrong.
I pray Sweet Pea will never feel like that.. but I sort of think she feels that way when I try to correct her myself, so I worry about her now with this. I'll leave this in Gods hands and pray that he does His perfect will in this matter, trusting that His way is best.

Mr Man left his homework at school again today, He didn't pick up on this I did while i went though his back pack.. So I took him back up to the school so he could get it. This was his 2nd time this year doing this. We had a little talk that he has to be more responsible about this sort of stuff and that next time I won't take him back up to the school to get it. Well I told him if he forgot it and he is the one to remember shortly after leaving school that OOPES I left this mom then I'll take him back.. but if he doesn't and I"m the one who finds that he didn't Then he will just have to pay the price, which is missing recess to go to the homework room to do the homework that he didn't do the night before. I think our talk will stick and he will take more time to make sure he got what he needs before he comes home.

Princess had volleyball practices tonight.. she isn't too thrilled with her team. There is no one she really knows on it and she doesn't think any of them has played volleyball before.. OH the joy of rec league volleyball..

So there are the random thing from my day today.
Good night all.. See you in the world of blogs tomorrow.

Oh Sweet Pea, and the Powerful Sneeze

Oh Sweet Pea, she is just too funny sometimes. I had a story about something she did and said on Thursday that I was going to share with you all today, but then she said something funny again this morning. So I guess I tell you all both of them. Lets start with this mornings story. This morning we were in the bathroom, I had washed her face, brushed her teeth, combed her hair and I was curling the ends under for her, when I said.. "You are so pretty, do you know that" she got a little shy look on her face and shook her head yes. This made me giggle and I said "you do, you know your pretty" she said "Well Yeah, everyone keeps saying that." I said "they do" She then informs me, " yes, well not kids, kids don't say those sort of thing, but all the adults I know tells me that all the time" LOL. The next Sweet Pea story happened Thursday when she was home from school sick. She was wearing this cute little skirt, I put on her that morning.. Later in the afternoon she was walking by and I saw there was a whole in it. I said "Oh No, what happen to your skirt?" she said " It started out as a little hole, but then I sneezed" I tell ya that was one powerful Sneeze, did you see how that sneeze formed the hole in her skirt into a perfect heart shape. ;P LOL, ~sigh~ OH Sweet Pea.

Faith-Lift Friday

Encourage others and yourself! Share a scripture, quote, devotional, lyrics, or anything that has blessed you and strengthened you in your faith.Don't forget to grab the button and to link back to Sheryl's post.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Philippians 4:19
But my God shall supply all your need
according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

I know I have shared theses verses in the past but the last month they have been popping in my head over and over..
If you have been keeping up with my blog you know that for the last 4 weeks my DH has been dealing with health issues.
Week #1 he was sick he went to the doctor they told him it was a virus or the flu. He missed the whole week of work sick as a dog not able to keep anything down and he ended up losing 30 pounds.
Week #2 we go back to the doctors and they send him over to the hospital for testing and ended up admitting him and keeping him doing all sorts of test and getting him well.
Week #3 they send him home, he is feeling 100% better but his liver numbers were still bad and he knew he would have to have his gallbladder removed we ran that week back and forth to doctors
This week Week #4 DH had his surgery on Monday and they kept him in the hospital and let him come home on Tuesday, He goes today(Friday) back to the doctors to see how he is healing.

Besides DH being sick. Two weeks before he got sick Little Man had that nasty virus that lasted 16 days.. a week into that I ended up with it, We both were getting well right at the time DH came down with the virus. ONLY if it wasn't for him getting the virus we never would have know just how infected his gallbladder was and he would have ended up really really sick or worse with that. Thinking of this Romans 8:28 just kept running though my head.

Now during this time DH hasn't been able to work and seeing how he is our only income and because his works short term disability will not be paid to him until after he returns to work.. we have had zero money coming in at all. Yet God has provided for us each and every day.. EVEN when unexpected expenses have jumped up at us, Such as Mr Man getting sick and needing to go to the doctors and needing a prescription last week, and Sweet Pea getting sick this week. and Now Little Man went to bed tonight with a 101.7 fever. God has still provided one way or another.. for us to have food to eat, money for doctors and medicine for DH and the kids.. PLUS money to pay the bills.. It has just been amazing to sit back and watch God at work and how he will provide for us.

I am just so over joyed and want to praise and Thank God for his Love and Care and working in our life, and for the joy he has given me and the peace he has brought me though this time.

Wordless Wednesday(The place to sleep)

Ok Maybe not so wordless. There are 4 cats there, just that the black kitten sort of gets lost and looks as if he is just part of the big black and white cat. I woke up one day last week to find the 3 kittens and our 2 year old cat all curled up together sleeping in this recliner. So I snaped a picture thinking how cute it was that all 4 of them were getting along and sleeping together.. Then later that afternoon on the same chair I found something even cuter. This chair must be the place to sleep, Little man took his whole nap that day just like this.

DH is fine after the surgery.

Yesterday morning we took DH to the hospital at 6am for his surgery at 8am. All went well and the doctor was talking to me at 10am telling me it was a little harder to get the gallbladder out but they managed and was able to do it without cutting him open. They found his gallbladder was even worse then what they had thought it was 3 times it's normal size and really infected.
All his latest blood work came back normal, his liver if functioning well again. He did have to stay in the hospital last night. He got up to his room around noon but didn't open his eyes until 2pm. He woke up extremely sore. He is still in a lot of pain but they let him come home this morning.
He goes back to see the doctor Friday morning and at that point we will find out when he will be able to go back to work.

Thank you for all your prayers
